Dr Michael Lange and his new passion car racing
Posted by Dr Michael Lange in Uncategorized on September 3, 2017
Dr Michael Lange grew up racing motocross from the age of 10. In 1979 he was involved in a bad motocross accident in a Grand National Championship race and broke his back and leg in multiple places ending his competitive motocross career. He stayed off the motocross track until 2000 when he got back into motocross until 2017 when he got out for good. Dr Lange said at age 55 I needed to find another extreme type sport that was safer than motocross. Dr Lange decided on racing cars!! He went to the Bondurant race school in Arizona for their Grand Prix race school for one week and then went back again in April for the Bondurant Advanced race school for a few more days. Dr Lange was a select group of people in the world that was able to buy a very limited edition Dodge Viper ACR extreme VoodooII ( #26 of 31 made) . This is the fastest production race car made today. Dr Lange was able to get his SCCA full competition race car license after going to the Bondurant Race School in May 2017. Dr Lange started tracking his car at many track events at Sebring International Raceways and Homestead/ Miami Speedway in June 2017. In a 3 month period he worked his way up from Novice to intermediate and now he his in the Advanced class. His lap times are now as fast as many top pros driving similar production cars. Dr Lange states he has been having a blast and has finally found a sport that produces the adrenalin rush of Motocross. He will be competing at many track events and races at Sebring, Homestead/ Miami , Road Atlanta, Virginia International Speedway, Barber Speedway, Daytona and Nola speedway during the rest of 2017 and beyond.
